Samsung Galaxy S24 leak points to three models and Ultra camera upgrade

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series of flagship phones should be arriving early next year – and a new leak has emerged suggesting that we'll get the usual three models in the range, as well as pointing to a camera upgrade for the most expensive Ultra model. This comes from the teams at SamMobile and GalaxyClub , who have found evidence of a 'Muse3' codename for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We're always interested to find out about internal codenames, and in this case it seems likely that Muse1 and Muse2 exist, too. There had been a few whispers that the Plus model wouldn't make an appearance next year, but these codenames suggest otherwise – so we will get sequels to the Samsung Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra (that series was codenamed 'Diamond', by the way). If you're keen to learn what older codenames have been, we had 'Hubble' for the Galaxy S20, 'Unbound' for the Galaxy S21, and 'Rainbow' for the Samsung G...

Workers would actually prefer it if their boss was an AI robot

It appears that some workers, rather than fearing the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace, would actually welcome it - if it means replacing their superiors. A survey of a thousand employees conducted by the AI service Business Name Generator found that nearly a fifth would be happy for an automated robot to replace their current boss.  This opinion seems to stem from the gripes many have with their employer, chief of which are a lack of appreciation and empathy, as well as favoritism shown towards certain workers over others. Doing a better job Other elements of discontent with bosses included their unclear expectations, disorganization and micromanagement.  1 in 5 workers from the UK and the US said that a robot would do a better job in the position, with a third also believing that they will soon takeover the workplace anyway. Somewhat surprisingly, given the importance of human creativity in the field, 30% of UK workers in Arts and Culture were hap...

It's time for your daily dose of Quordle hints, plus the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin off.  Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones that I'm still playing now, around 18 months after the daily-word-game craze hit the internet, and with good reason: it's good fun, but also difficult. What's more, its makers (now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster) are also keeping it fresh in the form of a new variant called the Daily Sequence, which sees you complete four puzzles consecutively, rather than concurrently.  But Quordle is tough, so if you already find yourself searching for Wordle hints , you'll probably need some for this game too.  I'm a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who's been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle hints to game #516 and the answers to the main game and Daily Sequence.  SPOILER WARNING: Information ...

A transparent plastic film: Thats how the worlds largest monitor company imagines your next screen

Image
The in-house design team at AOC, a subsidiary of the world’s largest monitor manufacturer, TPV Technology, came up with a mockup of an ultra short throw projector with a transparent plastic film (think something akin to Perspex or Plexiglass) as the screen surface. 3D Models of the virtual prototype emerged as the AOC NEXTV was one of the winners at the Red Dot design award in the innovative product category. Members of the jury said that “The use of short throw projection technology in combination with a very compact projector housing has resulted in an innovative, very minimalist home cinema solution with AOC NEXTV”. The projector itself is housed in a collapsible box with a pair of speakers and a transparent 60-cm screen attached to the housing. The motorized projector module can move closer to the screen to fill its entire surface; the entry description notes that “a transparent plastic film for short-distance projection ensures high contrast and vivid colors in the proje...

YouTube video translation is getting an AI-powered dubbing tool upgrade

YouTube is going to help its creators reach an international audience as the platform plans on introducing a new AI-powered dubbing tool for translating videos into other languages. Announced at VidCon 2023, the goal of this latest endeavor is to provide a quick and easy way for creators to translate “at no cost” their content into languages they don’t speak. This can help out smaller channels as they may not have the resources to hire a human translator. To make this all possible, Amjad Hanif, vice president of Creator Products at YouTube, revealed the tool will utilize the Google-created Aloud plus the platform will be bringing over the team behind the AI from Area 120, a division of the parent company that frequently works on experimental tech. Easy translation The way the translation system works, according to the official Aloud website , is the AI will first transcribe a video into a script. You then edit the transcription to get rid of any errors, make clarifications, or hig...
