A new Android malware variant has been found that’s capable of hiding from antivirus programs, stealing sensitive data, and even deploying ransomware on the infected endpoints.  Cybersecurity experts from CloudSEK’s Threat Intelligence Research Team discovered the malware, which they dubbed “Daam”.  The malware was communicating with “various Android APK files”, the researchers said, suggesting that this was a “likely source of infection”. Recording calls Once deployed on a device, the malware will first try to circumvent security checks on a range of mobile brands. If it successfully manages to hide from antivirus programs, it will try to get highly sensitive permissions, such as the ability to record audio, read history bookmarks, kill background processes, and read call logs.  The malware is also able to record all ongoing calls, both cellular and VoIP ones, and later transmit them to the command & control (C2) server. Dropbox has announced a handful of new features for its online approval and collaboration tool Replay, which it says is now open to all. With the full launch of Dropbox Replay, the global cloud storage company hopes to make collaborating on media projects even easier while eliminating the need for additional tools. Replay takes on the likes of Frame.io by giving content creators the ability to share video, image, and audio with others in order to obtain feedback, making it a powerful tool for long-distance projects that would otherwise require workers to be in the same room. A pretty substantial leak is making the rounds for the upcoming Nikon Z8 DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera, revealing much of its specifications. From the looks of it, the new model is slated to be a miniature version of the Nikon Z9, a camera that we believe is the best for professional photographers . This information comes from a recent report by Nikon Rumors , and if you compare the two devices, you’ll see a lot of similarities. The new model will have the same 45.7MP stacked sensor for high-resolution images. When burst shooting, the Z8 will apparently be capable of taking RAW photos at 20 FPS (frames per second) with a maximum of 120 FPS when in JPEG mode. Shutter speed is, it seems, the same at 1/32,000 of a second. The Z9’s native 64-25,600 ISO range is being carried over to the Z8 as well, according to the leak, as its ability to shoot 8K video at 60 FPS.
